Zoom drops everyone into breakout rooms of 2 for 4 minutes. A prompt shows up in the main chat — “the best work trip you ever took,” “a skill you picked up during the pandemic,” “a hill you’d die on.” When time’s up, Zoom auto-rotates everyone into a new pair. Repeat 5–6 times.

Killer for onboarding: a new hire talks 1:1 with 5–6 teammates in 30 minutes. Better than a week of scheduled coffees.

Materials: Zoom with the breakout auto-rotation feature (built-in since 2021), a facilitator who writes the prompts, and a 4-minute timer. Pick prompts that invite stories, not Q&A.
